👺 [ Drama & Debate ] Vault hunter voting posts
Hello Vault Hunters. If you’re like me (and most of the population) you love voting on things and love tier lists. You might recall that there was a daily voting knockout type post about picking the best vault hunter among all the games. It was nearing the end about 11 days ago and the comments were getting heated but I did really enjoy seeing how it was ending until it randomly stopped. But what happened?
I reached out to the guy that was making them,
u/IfTheresANewWay. I asked him why he stopped since the community was heavily interacting with his posts. He told me he stopped because he was perma banned from the community with no explanation. He said he reached out to a mod to get answers and they never responded.
I am here making this post to make everyone aware that someone from the community making really cool polls was silenced without explanation and to ask for either an explanation or for him to be unbanned. I encourage someone to reach out to me personally and check to see if I too get silenced in the coming days so we can keep the fight going.
If you are a mod reading this I hope you can explain yourself and your team without causing more problems because I am relentless. If he was banned for a completely valid reason I will retract my callout post since I am currently unaware of any wrongdoing on his end.

That would be extremely childish behaviour. Hopefully the mods hold themselves to a higher standard than that

Yeah, i was wondering why we lost the daily polls. I loved them! The fact that the user was (potentialy) banned for no reason at all is unfortunately the most reddit thing ever.

Yeah I was confused cus dude refused to make his posts public, so I could never look up the daily polls but on top of that disappeared out of the blue, left me wondering what the heck happened

Might have just been automod. I didn't get banned, but I had an exchange with a not so pleasant person. I had stayed respectful throughout the whole exchange, but at some points my replies got either deleted or hidden, don't remember which. It happened after that person had attacked me, so I used the contact mods option to ask what I did wrong there.
It took a while to get a reply, it might have even been a full week, mod said sorry and that automod got triggered because of various parameters (lengthy reply in a long exchange, controversial topic, yada yada. It sounded like the automod is horribly configured. You can also quite easily get your responses hidden by hitting the wrong keywords(not bad words I might add, just the wrong topics) with seemingly little regard to context.
I wouldn't be surprised if its something stupid like "large amount of posts + heated discussions in the comment" triggering some "oh this must be a ragebaiter" automod... Maybe this is another curse of the clankers.

Honestly, as someone who mods and has modded plenty of sub in the past, that sounds like bullshit 😂...
Who knows, definitely doesn't sound right tho...

I mean it could be that some random mod on the borderlands subreddit lied to me... but why should they?

Its probably against tos to post screenshots from my chat with the mod, so I won't post those, but checking the dates on the, I contacted them on the 26th of february and got my response on march 7. So there clearly can be quite the delay between responses.

Yea I saw it. Thing is, nobody owns you any explanation really...
I know it sounds bad/rude, but it could be any random reason they didn't want him posting the shits. From karma farming to literally nothing at all, just mod discretion...
Not really much you can do but leave the sub or get over it honestly...a mod doesn't really have to do anything they don't want...
From a user perspective, again, I know it sounds TERRIBLE...but it's the truth...

I think what you wanted to type is "ah my bad, I guess you could be right, but who knows", after accusing me of spouting bs ;)
Given that I got a response for my complete nonissue, and I have no doubt to believe them that my issue was indeed caused by automod as they said, I wouldn't be too surprised if the guy with the voting poll gets an explanation at some point. But if not then what you wrote in your last reply is true, not much they can do about it, or expect different. Just life ¯_(ツ)_/¯

How strange. I did wonder where those posts went because, as you say, I was engaging with them and enjoying watching them day to day.

They have banned many. The mods hate gearbox and are trying to silence real fans..
We need to pick up the poll.
Put a new one up. And if it gets taken down put it back up. We did this and got someone unbanned from d2 sub.
