Yeah but like I am not gonna be making crazy ass threats like that towards someone who's got connections with Batman. May be a criminal but I'm not am idiot type shit

(Do the thugs know Batman and Catwoman work together sometimes or no? Especially seeing as they work together in Arkham City)

You have to remember that a lot of them don’t even think Batman is real in the first place

ITS DA FREAKIN BAT

u/Peggtree Jul 22 '26

I mean these are the same goons who pick fights with Batman just because there are 4 of them rather than run away

u/ProperLawyer8566 Jul 22 '26

5 battle droids vs a Jedi type shit

u/DudeBa3l Jul 22 '26

With the amount of CTE batman has given them, i dont think theyre smart enough even for that

The genuine feeling of holding up a corner store only to end up eating through a tube for the rest of your life

Batman arkham has some very fucked up thing though

For example pre-knight, joker abducted and killed a bunch of kindergarteners

u/addictedtoketamine2 Jul 22 '26

Excuse me, he abducted them and killed them and THEN stitched their bodies together in a line.

u/someonegivemeusernam Jul 22 '26

Oh shit, left out the most important detail. Sorry and thank you.

How has he not gotten the chair yet bro

u/MemuMan Am I stupid? Jul 22 '26

Insanity plea perhaps. Or they just don't have the death penalty in whichever state Gotham is in (except that Arkham Origins starts with an attempted execution of Calendar Man so that's not the case)

29

u/okhiguy Jul 22 '26

Bro I think they‘d be offing joker off after the 10.000th kill by merit that he‘s a danger to not only society but to the existence of human life regardless of his mental capacity

Look at the pretty flower, Joker… laughinggassed

Use commas like everyone else

What if I don’t

Is there a reason given for his sentencing to death? I shudder to think what Calendar Man of all people could do that’s so much worse than the rest of Arkham’s finest.

u/MemuMan Am I stupid? Jul 22 '26

While Julian Gregory Day was previously declared legally insane, albeit by questionable staff, his execution had been arranged by Loeb as a means to gain more political power, even having Harleen Quinzel do a second analysis that indicated that Day was sane to allow for an execution to commence.

This is from the Arkham wiki.

It's not 100% confirmed if it is in New Jersey at least in the Arkham universe but as I stated Calendar Man was canonically given the death penalty.

u/Southern_Kaeos Jul 22 '26

Couldn't catch him? Im thinkbthat may have been the intent when Batman took him into arkham

34

u/AtemsMemories Jul 22 '26

Man really looks at this and says “I can fix him”

u/T-MONZ_GCU Jul 22 '26

Genuinely one of the worst cases of the series trying too hard to be edgy sometimes imo

It is city stories reward after solving diddler puzzle:

The Fall

Batman was wrong. He'd always been wrong about Joker. There was no madhouse qualified, no prison secure enough. Jason knew that now, after he'd seen tonight-

Little arms, little legs, little heads, crudely, mockingly stitched together.

He'd come straight from the kindergarten, followed a trail of innocent blood back to Arkham Asylum. Tracker switched off. Cowl communications disabled. He was a ghost. Batman wouldn't find him until it was done.

Weeping parents, fighting over patchwork corpses.

The sanatorium had been derelict for years. A burnt-out patch of dead earth on top, a forgotten warren of cells below. Good, Jason thought, he's already in the dirt. There was a moral line that Bruce had sworn never to cross. Jason would cross it for him.

Jason had been watching a grief-stricken mother piece her son together when the kindergarten speaker system came to life.

No, Robin, he thought. Push it down. Jason pulled back to the heavy iron doors that would have once led into a laundry chute, and dropped into the dark.

"Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall," Joker sang.

It was a net, half-way down, that caught him. It broke with his weight, sending him tumbling out of the end of chute onto the granite floor. Jason gritted his teeth breathed through the pa-

The first swing of the crowbar took out two teeth. The second broke his ankle.

"All the king's horses, and all the king's men, couldn't put Humpty together again," Joker was singing.

Isn’t that too messed up even for Joker? Is this a consequence of not having Paul Dini write Arkham Knight?

12

u/ReallyOysterCupcake Jul 22 '26

No because in Batman Arkham Asylum, Joker emails a picture of a dead baby to Dr. Young because he is bored.

2

u/CrucibletheFox Jul 22 '26

Why would Robin jump into something he doesnt see the end of. Is he stupid?

3

u/Kalbi84 Jul 22 '26

Worth noting that it comes from arkham knight, which has the M rating

It’s part of the rewards for getting riddler stuff, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be canon

Also we only see joker on 3 nights of his life in the games (technically 5 if you include joker’s origin in origins, and the killing joke scene in knight), times when he doesn’t have time to do this kind of stuff because Batman is chasing him or he has something else his efforts are directed to, and this level of darkness definitely suits him from what we’ve seen, such as when he sticks multiple of his goons in electric chairs in origins, and keeps the voltage low enough that they can survive it for 2 minutes

We also know joker tortured Jason in knight, and did it for multiple years

Joker was gonna blow up multiple buildings, and actually succeeded in doing so with one of them in Arkham origins, if the city didn’t hate Batman for that they wouldn’t hate him for this either

Besides, it’s the city’s responsibility to kill the joker, not Batman’s. Additionally some people, notably commissioner Gordon, get extremely upset if Batman does take a life even if it’s warranted, like in origins when his options were “kill bane or Gordon dies, or bane just kills you”

Additionally it’s not like people were going “GRAAGGHH BATMAN YOU SHOULDVE KILLED PROFESSOR PYG” when he brought him in, despite the shit pyg has done being absolutely horrendous, same with scarecrow after he committed the greatest act of terror in the history of Gotham city, which no doubt killed multiple children via overdosing on fear toxin, that or drove them permanently insane. Not everyone could evacuate from Gotham

33

u/LADYBIRD_HILL Jul 22 '26

It always surprised me back in the day considering how fucked up some of the stuff in the game is, especially the Hush side missions.

There are many terrible and evil and sometimes graphic things in the Arkham series pre-arkham knight (which actually got the M/Pegi 18 rating). And it's still not rated for adults only. Ratings can get away with lots of weird things. And ratings themselves are weird and illogical. As is our culture.

3

u/Ok-Imagination-3835 Jul 22 '26

The teen rating is definitely stretching it, I think Batman gets a free pass here that over character wouldn't

8

u/Arch3m I'm Not Sorry Jul 22 '26

I mean, one of them was.

9

u/addictedtoketamine2 Jul 22 '26

BARELY. They probably all should have been tbh

8

u/Reality-is-Sin Jul 22 '26

There’s multiple murders bruh

2

u/Roxman04 Jul 22 '26

I guess you missed the part where two Joker goons torture a guy over a pit of molten steel lol
