So, recently I got dumped. I lived with my partner. Ive been crashing with my sister since. I had to quit my job because sister lived in city far away. Ive been door dashing until I could secure a job and start working towards getting my own place. And then this morning disaster struck. I got in a car wreck, my car is totaled. My sister began scolding me, and found me saying "I need a moment" to be disrespectful enough to kick me out.

So now im sitting outside of a shelter. Waiting until they start accepting people to see if they have enough beds. Its first come first serve. I have $50 to my name so, and I managed to scarf down a hot dog before I left my sisters place so ill be okay for tonight at least.

As far as what im requesting, im putting $100 here because system wont let me say that i dont have a specific amount i need. Something I can put towards transportation to find a job or to get anywhere really, like the next shelter I might have to stay at. Would go towards food as well of course. I cant make a wish list for shelf stable foods as i dont have an address.

But what I REALLY want is advice. Next steps, assistance programs that will connect me with jobs or shelters. Ways that I can pull myself up and out of this for good. Ways that I can go from here to renting my own apartment and having a stable income. Im not making this post for financial assistance (even tho itll help me a little in the now) im making this post for help finding a plan.

Hi I’m a single mother (to a toddler) who makes $19/hour as a phlebotomist, most of which goes to childcare (inorder to work). I have no partner or any contact with the father and am doing this solely on my own. I’m short on this month’s rent by $200 and need to pay my landlord directly (rented rooms) by Monday 10/5. I’ve made up the rest I was originally short by donating plasma and selling my electronics. I am out of options to make my rent this month other than to beg someone for help. I started at Massage Envy at the beginning of 2025 and was pulling in $200 a day. That job has withered to almost nothing in the past year and checks only hit twice a month.

I got accepted to a new higher paying job but I’m in the process of training for my insurance license and I’m still a few weeks from collecting my first check.

Because Massage Envy only pays me twice a month I was not able to pay my electric bill before the cutoff date and lost power this morning. I tried calling beforehand to get the date pushed back. I've been really depressed and sick since finding out about the recent death of my last surviving grandpa and one of my uncles. I'll be honest, it's impossible for me to eat right now. It's getting bad enough to where my family is worried about me not eating at all, or forcing myself to eat very little. Some of my friends are getting worried too.

I've never posted an Amazon wishlist before. Truth be told, I don't use Amazon for groceries. I'm rarely on Amazon for much of anything now. Please don’t judge when you see it. I’m reaching out because I don’t know where else to turn for our sweet girl, Loopster, or “Loopy.”

Loopy is honestly the sun personified, or dogified. Somehow, she manages to be both the most chaotic and the sweetest dog I’ve ever met. If someone robbed our house, she would probably just sit there and ask for pets. Anyone who has met her would say the same, except perhaps my cat. Though, to be fair, they’re more like siblings who fight than actual enemies.

I’ve never had a day with Loopy where I wasn’t either terribly impressed or greatly disappointed by something she’d done, because she has dug through one too many rubbish bins. Which is why I was absolutely devastated when we learned she had an aggressive cancerous tumour.

We spent money we didn’t really have on her first surgery, but no matter the cost, I would never have made any other choice. Because the tumour was in a sensitive area near her bottom, we knew she might struggle with incontinence for a few days. It wasn’t glamorous for poor Loopy, but, as she always does, she never complained. I have never once heard her whimper.

Unfortunately, things did not improve. In fact, they got worse. She physically cannot hold in her faeces, and it has been smearing wherever she walks and all over herself. Even without being an expert, I know this must be incredibly uncomfortable for her.

Today, we took her back to the vet for a check-up and to have everything cleaned safely. As we feared, this is not normal and needs to be fixed urgently. Something inside was not stitched back together properly and has collapsed, causing faeces to leak continuously.

So now, after already spending so much on her first surgery, we are back at square one trying to find even more money to help her. If my heart doesn’t break seeing such a good girl in this state, it shatters when I realise I don’t know where to find the money to pay for the repair surgery.

Hi all, I've had a month of "surprise" bills come up. Close to $1000 in car repairs and maintenance and having to pay $250 to get our lawns done for a rent inspection. All the fun stuff. 🫠

I live close to a shopping centre that has both Coles and Woolies (Aldi as well, but I don't think they do online vouchers like colesworth)

I've made a shopping list for three meals that last us for more than one day so three meals can be stretched to a week or more if I freeze the leftovers. (Total comes to about $80 for the food I need)

Like I stated, vouchers are fine and I'll happily provide a receipt. I also have PayPal, but don't expect cash.

Hello everyone. About a year ago I bought a 2009 Nissan Versa super cheap off a lot with the intent of having low monthly payments and being able to pay it off in a year. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not having it inspected first. I made the horrendous mistake of not getting it inspected first. A few months in I took it to Meineke for an oil change and they listed nearly 6k worth of work that needed to done, not including stuff that wouldn't fail state inspection.

I took it back to the dealership but it'd been long enough that I couldn't take legal action or get something else, and my credit is bad enough that getting another car wasn't an option. They did the state inspection work for 2.5k, which my best friend was able to cover for me (I still owe them). I've done what I can to get the most recent issues covered, including replacing the Struts in a previous post. I thought I was in the clear, but now I'm faced with new issues.

The primary ones that will render the car unusable in time are failing CV Joints (particularly the right side one). The mechanic told me I could drive on them for a while but I'm hearing the telltale clicking, so I know I don't have much time left on that. There's also my rusting transmission pan which is seeping transmission fluid, lord knows how long I'll still have fluid. The CV joints are quoted at 800 to replace both, 450 to replace one. The transmission pan WAS 300, but after learning there's apparently no aftermarket transmission pan for my model, it went up to 430.

The financial weight of the car has simply been too much. I cannot pay for these out of pocket and my tanked credit score means I've been denied every loan and credit card I've applied for. I live miles away from any town or city so my bike/the bus isn't an option.

I was praying it would hold out until the car was paid off in July, because that extra 200 bucks a month would make taking care of these much easier, but that's infeasible.

I can provide quotes, proof that I'm working, proof that I only have two payments on the car left- whatever may need to know that I'm not fleecing them.

I don't know how much to ask for because saying $1200 sounds... bad. But that's my situation. Me and my mechanic are location in Seven Valleys PA. The CV joints, before buying my own, would be around 800. And the transmission pan replacement 430.

Edit 2: I have it covered now thankfully. Even though I didn't use any monetary help from Reddit I will still mark this as resolved here. Thank you to everyone who gave me genuine advice or offered to pay, I sincerely appreciate it.

My electric bills usually average around $80/month. Because of the recent ice storm here in the US, our power company had to buy power from a third party. Of course this makes them hike their prices up. It's a struggle to pay it even at the normal price, but come to find out I have nowhere near enough for it. That puts me in an extremely compromising position.

It already feels hopeless but if it gets shut off, that's another $50 added onto the bill which essentially spells doom. Where I live, if you don't have power for a week, they evict you, no exceptions.

Most of the year, we have state heating/cooling assistance which pays your electric bill, but for whatever reason they haven't started yet. I get FAFSA from school but again, the ice storm apparently screwed with how long it takes them to send it out. Emailed about it this morning and got told it won't come in until after April starts.

TLDR: Please please please, if you can help at all, I would appreciate it so much. Got some help already so the goal is $110 $90. There's a PayPal I'm able to use. If I get something I'll update with the amount still needed. I really don't know what else to do.

My 86-year-old grandmother is only on Social Security and has no savings. She is struggling to pay bills, especially since everything is going up and she's on a lot of medication that also has gone up. She has a disconnect on her power bill; the disconnect date is the 16th. She gets paid one day later, and the power company can't guarantee they will extend it. Her account balance is $414.55. The minimum payment due to avoid a disconnect is $149.99. She lives with me, and I take care of her. I had a job but lost it, so I'm currently without income and can't help much. I've tried to apply for assistance for this, and she makes $50-70 too much a month for help. I've talked to the power company about pushing the date up, but they say the Average Monthly Payment program we are on doesn't qualify for an extension. I'm very stressed, and we need help now to keep our power on. I'm not seeing many options. I've reached out to one church that may help, but they say they are closed until the 13th due to taking a holiday week off. Time is so short to get this paid, and we need help. I'm looking for at least around $150 to just keep it on, but ideally get the full $415 to pay the bill entirely off and help us get caught up; whatever helps, though, and every bit I can chip out helps. So if any of you can help, please help us. I can provide proof of this bill. I have access to multiple apps, and she has a couple. If anybody can help, please post here and/or message me. My friends ditched me after a goth show we just went to. I’m having a panic attack and am sobbing on the side of 2nd and Figueroa. They were my place to stay. I’m from out of town (Sacramento) I was planning to stay a couple more days but I Need. To. Go. Home. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know if I should aim for looking for a hotel to just settle at for the night and deal with everything else when I wake up, or try for a greyhound bus ticket as soon as possible. It has been a really hard year. My wife had an AVM explode in her head, essentially a stroke, and was in ICU for about month. She is still working on recovering. Her student loans are coming due and we owe about $100,000 and with the new payment plans we could be looking at a $1,000 a month bill. We have about $7,000 in credit card debt, just found out the state did not take our taxes out when they should have so we are facing a $700 tax bill, our child started college which she cant pay for and we will have to help, and the transmission in our only working car just blew. We still owe $2,000 on the car, which might just barely be worth that amount but are looking at at least $6,000 to repair it. We can't get to work or the doctors without the car, as there is no public transportation where we live. We need a new car to turn things around. We were handling it all until the car and tax issues and now have no idea how to make it. I am looking for additional work to help longterm, but in the short term, any assistance with the car or just general advice to help turn this around would be amazing. I’m embarrassed to have to even ask for help with this, but I have rent that has to be paid by Friday or they’re gonna take me to court and try to evict me. Unfortunately, I had two cats (Darth and Obi) passed away within two weeks of each other this past month (17yr old brothers I rescued from underneath my trailer as kittens) and I had to spend about $600 of my rent money to cover their costs, I had to cave and finally get my Zoloft prescription paid for because I feel so incredibly ill putting it off for weeks, I had other unexpected bills come up with my car, and now for the first time in almost 20 years of living here, they are threatening to take me to court if I’m not paid by Friday. There is no accommodation, they are extending no empathy and in fact have continued to raise rent over the last couple years I’ve lived here almost 200 more dollars than it was.

I am employed full-time on salary (was just promoted to supervisor a month ago) and don’t receive any assistance. I tried to get loans but they won’t give them to me at this point because my drivers license expired on my birthday in July and I haven’t been able to afford to get that updated either. I don’t have family support to ask and so this is where I’m at. If I can catch up on rent, that will free up this upcoming paycheck for me to get my license renewed, finally get some groceries, and get my paychecks to hit properly so they’re covering everything like they were.

I'm not one who generally asks others for help as I generally come to Reddit to help other people with their plants, but these last 5ish days have been horrendous. I am disabled and on SSI(Supplemental Security Income, not social security), I have Autism, ADHD, C-PTSD(related to car accidents+ a car related death in my family, other trauma), Dyspraxia, and Extreme Anxiety Disorder(constant panic attacks throughout the month) amongst a host of other diagnosed physical and mental conditions. I have ARFID and can only eat specific things which for the MOST PART aren't shelf-stable/Amazon shippable. I do have Foodstamps, but my foodstamps don't get paid out until the 9th, and my EBT card is currently empty.

The family emergency is as followed(Trigger warning: self harm), and I'm going to try to be a bit vague while recounting what happened: On Wednesday night, my 15 year old niece swallowed a LOT of some... things... she really shouldn't have and passed out. Sometime in the early hours of Thursday morning, my brother woke up to her barely able to walk and vomiting all over the house, the Ambulance came, they took her immediately to the hospital. They're keeping her on a 5150 hold here in CA once she's cleared out of intensive care, but that hasn't happened yet. They had to give her an antidote because she swallowed enough of these things to destroy her liver AND to... you know. Her liver numbers even now on Monday are not good.

This request for Assistance is NOT for my niece. It's for me, my siblings and my mom. They have been begging me to find a way down to them to help them through this crisis. The problem is; All my money from SSI's already gone to my uncovered medications and my rent/bills. I live about 150 miles round trip northeast of my family. Due to one of the major trauma issues and sources of panic attacks/PTSD issues is Car related/being a passenger in a car as well as my Dyspraxia, I cannot drive and only people I trust can drive me around(No Lyft or Uber). Either my Caretaker/SO has to drive me down there and then drive back up here, or my mom or my sister needs to drive up and drive back to where they live if they pick me up.

Due to how much they're dealing with the hospital, the care, running around and locking up all the bad stuff, due to how much my Niece ONLY really speaks to me oftentimes when she's down, they want me there to sit with my 3 and 1 year old nephews, to Watch over my elderly mother, to go sit with my niece during visitor hours so she's not alone. But, none of us are in the position where we have spare money even for the gas. We're all stretched thin this summer, and everyone's throwing all extra money and credit at my niece's hospital costs, and eventual Psych commitment costs(Note: through my therapist and psych, I've already managed to aid my fam in finding some assistance programs to help through this). And I've posted a lot of my most prized possessions on Facebook marketplace and craigslist trying to make some quick money locally to get primarily gas and other expenses covered, even vastly underpricing some of my favorite large and very rare variegated plants and other electronics or jewelry, but no dice. Posting here is basically my last ditch effort. I'm hoping that someone or a couple of people will come to my rescue with this and help me get on the road to be at my niece's side.

To say a little about my niece and what she means to me... I used to live in northern cal when she was born. I had only met her first during her 2nd birthday when I travelled home for 3 days, and then when she turned 6, My caretaker/SO and I moved downstate to live with my mom for 2 years. Due to my niece always being there, she was my little shadow, always asking me questions and wanting to learn about what I knew of art. She had already started to learn how to draw by tracing over all my old sketch books from highschool that she found in my mom's place. Over the years, she's always been bright and highly into art, and at 15, she's now starting to do digital commissions for others... and she's a LOT better at drawing than I ever was. But this... I don't even know... I'm the Aunt she usually calls to help her fix things, but she didn't even call me this time. I just want to be there, you know?

FULL STORY: back in January I fractured my pelvic bone from missing a step as I was climbing down a semi. As I was healing up and getting ready to go back to work, I somehow tripped over my own feet, twisted around, fell, and full on broke it towards the end of February. I'm receiving workman's comp right now, and from my understanding you're supposed to receive every 30 days. Whatever the case is, I'm going on 40 days, and a workman's comp claim rep told me it should've been delivered as of last Thursday. Then on Friday, when it didn't show up again, they had then told me that it had just been PRINTED on Thursday. She also mentioned it had just been sent that day (Friday), and to expect it yesterday or tomorrow, and to call back if it hasn't arrived by then, but I'm not exactly sure what they can do atp? Anyways, I'm just looking for a little cushion to get me by for food, gas, etc. until the check arrives. If I could get to $50, that would be incredible, but anything would be greatly appreciated!!
