I have a second-round interview with Astranis for a GNC Associate position and was wondering if anyone here has gone through the second-round interview process for this role.

I’m not really sure what to expect in terms of the format. If anyone has interviewed for a GNC Associate/GNC Engineer position at Astranis and can share their experience, the types of questions they were asked, or topics they recommend preparing for, I’d really appreciate it.

I am moving on to the technical round for my SpaceX GNC role interview process. I had my HR call, then a technical reasoning call where I walked through some scenarios with an engineer. I was was told some C++ coding will be involved in my next technical round. Does anyone have any experience in these GNC coding challenges? Anyone know what the question/code I may be asked to complete and how in depth the coding aspect is? Thanks for any help!

For context, DBF (AIAA Design/Build/Fly) is an international competition where college teams design, build, and fly their own aircraft against universities from around the world. It's our team's third year competing, while many of the schools we competed against have had established teams for almost 30 years and therefore have locked in tons of big sponsors annually.

From what I understand, they’ll go through your CV, ask you to explain a technical skill in detail, and cover questions relevant to your area, such as Windows, Linux or cloud engineering.

As the title says, I have an interview upcoming with a recruiter for the Vehicle Operations Engineering Intern role at K2 Space. My first scheduled call is a video call, so I assumed it would be technical and with a manager, but it lists a recruiter as my interviewer. It’s been around a year since I graduated with my MSc is Aerospace Dynamics in the UK and while hopelessly applying to every job that sits with my career path, what skills / softwares / courses do I learn and develop throughout this process to stay updated with the latest technology in the aerospace industry especially for someone interested in Aerodynamics, Design, Biomimicry and Sustainable Engineering.

I am being interviewed for the Flight Controller level 2 position and would like some guidance. What kinds of questions should I expect?

NASA put out the final request for proposals on 9 October 2026 for the privately owned stations that are supposed to replace the ISS in low Earth orbit. Earlier work was done under funded Space Act Agreements. This round is firm-fixed-price multi-award IDIQ contracts. NASA plans to pick two or more contractors for early development, then run a later competition for final design, test, certification and services. Proposals are due 8 December 2026 and awards are expected in spring 2027. The current budget has $272.3 million for it and about $2.1 billion is attached over the next five years. NASA also said it will furnish transportation for the first four service missions and published its own price estimates, around $325 million for a four-seat crew flight in 2030 and about $300 million for cargo.

Four teams are expected to bid: Axiom Space, Blue Origin, Starlab and Vast. At least one is likely to be left without NASA development money. Starlab's chief executive has said the venture will compete and Axiom has said it is preparing a proposal. Axiom Space, Blue Origin and Vast are private.

Voyager Technologies is the majority shareholder in the Starlab joint venture, so a selection funds its principal station programme through development and a non-selection removes that funding path. MDA Space is an equity owner in Starlab and supplies the external robotics, robotics interfaces and robotic mission operations, so that scope only moves into funded development if Starlab is selected. Redwire holds the contracts to supply roll-out solar array wings for the first two modules of Axiom Station, so its station work grows or stalls with whether Axiom's station is carried through NASA-funded development.

What would make the whole thing not matter is NASA selecting only a single contractor in spring 2027, cancelling or re-scoping the solicitation before awards, or an enacted appropriation materially below the roughly $2.1 billion five-year profile, which would leave the awards too thin to carry two stations through development.

For a little background on myself, I have prior internships in aerospace and have been working full time in my current role since June. Most of my skills are in software development, and hardware design.
Personally, I think I stand out as an applicant. Hence why I’m trying to relocate out of Iowa. That and I’ve just lived here my entire life and need a change. I don’t want to plant roots in the Midwest.

Just wondering overall what sites I should target that have an abundance of early career roles. Not necessarily confined to my current company but across the entire aerospace industry.

I recently got an offer at Northrop in Clearfield as an entry level ME and I'm trying to get a feel for the area. I grew up on the east coast and have never lived in Utah.

I’m mainly curious about the LDS side of things. If you're not Mormon, is it hard to make friends or find stuff to do? Does it come up at work much? I have heard that if you are not Mormon it is hard to live around them no matter how you act towards them.

Is there anywhere around that area that I should/should not live? I was told Ogden by my hiring manager, but have seen there are some crime issues.

Hello everyone so I'm in AIML, not aerospace, not electrical, and somehow I'm on my uni rocketry team. I'm pretty much a beginner at everything hardware.

We're prepping for a static fire test of our motor (not a launch, just strapping it down and seeing what it does), and I want to know that how I can use this skill in future and how can I contribute in team rather that just becoming a extra.

What should a total beginner learn first to be actually?

Any books, courses, or YT channels you'd recommend?

I can code and work with data. Is there a spot for that on a rocketry team (telemetry, data logging, flight prediction)?

Is CAD really the right first step or should I learn something else before it?

Hey I am a high school senior getting ready to go into college. I’ve really been interested in (what I think is) astrodynamics, but I am unsure about how the path to a future in astrodynamics looks like.

I will likely do my undergrad in aerospace or in some colleges, MechE, but I am confused on how specializing in astrodynamics will look like within my undergrad and after it. Is the best course of action in undergrad to connect with professors working in those fields, is that something that is common to do in undergrad? And after undergrad, what happens? I assume a PhD or masters is basically required to break into this field

Also I am under the impression that this is a small field, which makes me concerned about the job environment for it. What do the opportunities in astrodynamics look like? How are they financially and in terms of number of opportunities? How will it be in the future?

Finally, I wanted to ask if I am looking at the right area in the first place, because I have seen many online discussions with different terms, like trajectory, GNC, mission analysis, orbital mechanics. Are they all under astrodynamics or is this a separate thing? I am really interested in trajectory and mission analysis/reconstruction and SSA/SDA, and specifically the computational methods within them like Extended Kalman Filters, smoothers, state estimation, UQ, etc. of course I have only explored them on a basic level as someone only in hs. Purdue’s PSP Astrodynamics projects is like a wet dream of what I want to do, but I am still confused on how all these terms live in relation to each other. Which ones are subfields, adjacent, totally different etc?

I am just looking for real human input and view into how this field may look, feel and pan out like for me.
