M45A1.

Waited close to 2 years to snag one. Out of the box I had to adjust the grip safety, mag release spring tension and the leaf spring. The trigger rattles and it still doesn't have front strap checkering but I'd cut off a toe before I sold this thing.

I got a bcg stuck inside of a stripped upper without a charging handle...

I cannot figure out how to unlock the cam pin to pull it back out

Laugh at my misery or offer advice

UPDATE: wrapped yarn around the bolt face and pulled it forward while I pulled the bolt back to rotate the cam pin. Popped right out

Improved LeMat hammer spring?

Post image
58 Upvotes

Hey all four of you LeMat owners out there, anyone ever bothered replacing the hammer spring? Mine is super clunky My '51, '58 and '60 all have a hammer that you can just sort of throw back with a flick of your thumb, but the bloody LeMat requires a very thorough and constant thumb weld to move it back. Anyone else have this probelm or a solution.

(Make thumb stronger is not currently an option)

Thank you for your time.

How’s it for a first handgun?

Post image
46 Upvotes

About three months ago I posted in this subreddit for suggestions about buying the first handgun, well I bought one finally and it’s a Stoeger 8000 FT, very reliable, looks good , feels good in hand as if it were built for my grip. It has less recoil in comparison to other guns of the same category due to rotating barrel mechanism.

I need some pointers on how to maintain a gun i.e cleaning, lubing, storage etc.

Question Tikka m91

Recently acquired this beautiful Tikka barreled m91. Was really stoked to see the original receiver date when I pulled it out of the stock. My question is, it appears as though this one has the CE WG or WC stamp directly on top of the imperial russian crest? Is this an Austrian military marking? Thanks in advance!

First time shooting M1 Garand

I just picked up my expert grade reclaimed M1 Garand from the CMP yesterday. Today I put 80 rounds of 30-06 through it. It's probably the most fun gun I have now (and I have a PS90). It is also the first time that I've bruised my shoulder from shooting. lmao

For $1678 otd after transfer and shipping. Honestly, it looked like it was a used gun for how bad the finish was marred in places. It’s a 2024 production so not sure if it has anything to do with it. The drum was super snug and hard to fit. Will try the surplus mags tomorrow. Just landed today. Happy to have the RPK but hoped for little better finish for the price.

Finally decided! SP101 Mfg. 1996

Got this beautiful 2.25 inch Ruger SP101 with a bobbed hammer today due to the overwhelming love of them in this sub and all the recommendations I got. Serial number suggests this baby was manufactured in 1996, making it 30 years old now.
Even better, I paid $495 for it out the door. I’m floored :)

Picked this up for $300. Action was super sticky. Didn’t want to fully cycle. Took it apart, cleaned and lubed it seems like it’s back to normal! How’d I do? Anything I should look out for?

Last one to share. 1970 Colt Agent from deceased FIL.

I sourced the vintage Tex Shoemaker holster and the Jay Scott grips.

After posting a few items I realized that I am very fortunate to have a small but quality and sentimental collection.

I've only purchased one revolver myself in 1994 when I turned 21.

But it was a Ruger SP101 2.25" .357.

And I sold/traded it like a dummy.

Still look at them and for them and eventually will have another!
