It’s autocross. I’m gonna do more standing than driving lol. Cones ain’t gonna pick themselves up.

I often pull the "welp, these cones aren't going to knock themselves down" to random autocrosser I see but haven't met. Last time I did that guy responds totally deadpan"they don't pick themselves up either". I haven't made that statement since lol

I kinda scratched my head and thought "dang he's right".

To be fair he just had knee surgery and was shagging cones with a scooter, so there's that.

I’m honestly shocked that they allowed him out there in a scooter. If your mobility limited, we find you a different job that’s not on the course. It’s just a liability for everyone.

I don’t hit cones, not necessarily because it’s faster rather I’m a weenie when it comes to my paint. Even though we use the soft style cones that don’t leave marks, I just don’t like running them over. I assume too many fender liners and bumpers rip off.

I thought so too. He was at my station and we didn't have him shag. It was a special event and non traditional AX for the club and very casual so I think it was more "we have to put him somewhere"

Over on the r/motorsport page some dude was asking for ways to get involved on a budget and the top responses were telling him to gwt a sim rig because aparently it's too expensive. I honestly dont remember how i first learned about autocross but I'm glad I did or I probably would have just stuck with sim racing.

Best part about autocross is these fools coming down thinking they’ll be fast then they end up 5 seconds slower than a 100 hp Civic.

It’s better the bigger the engine they have
